Christmas 2012
The Knight Family

Greetings! Our family has another member: Shelly Iris Knight born 25 May 2012 to Celia and Jason. You can see video highlights from Shelly's first six months here and the start of her second six months here. At the right, we are posing in Shelly's back yard in Carlisle, MA, from left to right, Fred, Melanie, Ann, Eric Carlsen, Emily and Anthony Miller, Shelly, Celia Knight, and Jason Shelkowitz.

Happy to report that things are firing on all family cylinders. We're living nearby each other in almost adjacent towns in metro-West Boston.

Melanie, 25,, was accepted to and started a 2-year MA program in Communication & Speech Disorders at Emerson College in the fall. She is working hard and finds the program stimulating. Her boyfriend, Eric Carlsen, works as a 3-D animator and improvises on our piano. Melanie
Emily, 30,, and her husband Anthony Miller live in nearby Framingham. Emily works hard as a catering sales manager at Baker's Best Catering, which is close to home. Anthony has a new position managing accounts in the New England/New York region for Oracle. They have a busy life with friends and family.
Celia, 34,, and Jason Shelkowitz, 34, are both teaching. Celia went back to her elementary art teaching in Acton recently, and Jay has added ukelele classes for students to his music teaching job in North Andover. Shelly smiles and coos, as illustrated here and recently here, and even sleeps through the night. What a beauty she is!
AnnAnn, 61,, remains extremely engaged as the director of the Wayland Public Library, planning programs to make the library an activity center in town and coping with the budgetary situation. Reading remains a top priority, along with being a grandmother. Continuing to think about retirement (and travel!) in a few years.
Fred, 62,, remains at work at Lincoln Laboratory. Looking forward to continued enjoyment on the trails of the White Mountains; finished my 48 4000' peaks in April 2012. A few good overnights this summer and fall. See pictures and details here. Last summer, the girls gave me a birthday present of a family swim around Great Island at Squam Lake. It's so groovy to have all three daughters close! Fred
